Lord, You make sport with me

(3346) Tumi phuleri buke madhu dhalile

From the floral bosom nectar You did cascade;
To blossom with thorns the rose You made.
In winter through fire comfort You gave;
In summer You applied the sandal paste.

You go on doing work as You like;
Sometimes You make cry, elsewise You make smile.
Sometimes with affection You drag nigh;
Sometimes though craved, You did not gaze.

Like heat of the fire You've remained in hiding;
Upon sky You have soared like the water's steam.
You have gone on dancing with the peacock of psyche,
A game of light-and-shade having played.

Though physically You went

(3345) Caincala cetanate ele

You came with a fickle awareness;
But You went, a lasting line in mind left.
Lavished You affection and sweetness;
You made heard the words of faith permanent.

It was inconceivable what had pertained to me:
Everything made, sustained, and erased– the entirety,
The great ocean shoreless and immeasurably deep,
That same You came close, my adjacent.

I have obtained You in my thinking;
Thought I've filled with You, a hundred streams.
I have understood, hey Lord, I belong to Thee;
You've brought me by a sportive stratagem.

Like that I'll never know

(3344) Tomake janite bujhite giyachi

I've gone forth to know and understand You;
As often as I have, oh my Dearest Darling,
Forthwith, amid psyche I have viewed:
Unrivaled, You are shining brightly

I have seen You in the morning flowers,
In the arteries and veins on my mental earth...
With a gentle breeze, in chirping of the birds,
My music in the sound of a flight of geese.

To my intellect You don't grant embrace;
My intellect You take away.
My pride, a worldly vanity,
Like dust mixed with dust let it be.
Myself blanketing, the night acute;
Most remote I've made Thee.

Wanting more

(3343) Kata na jug pare tumi esecho

After many ages You've arrived
At the honeyed Vrindavan of psyche.
You've suffused the mental sky
With cadence and song of sentient feeling.

For You the world had yearned,
As bedrock for our concerns.
That dream having achieved,
In meditation You appeared.

At a remote peak I see Your
Rumbling, tinted love-tryst
With just its hues my colors mingling,
I float in Your company.

From thread to garland

(3342) Ganer malakhani tomari tare

The garland of songs for You only,
Strung had it been kept.
The day went, evening left; and in tears
The night was spent.

Age after age, hey my Beloved,
Love's thread had been with.
By song-blooms in Gokul of reverie,
Garland's form it did accept.

At far-remote place, wherever You dwell,
Yourself I will never forget.
With love and devotion brimming,
Yours became the mindset.

For our welfare

(3341) Tumi sabar majhe lukiye rayecho

Amid everyone You've remained concealed,
In the midst of everyone.
Everybody's well-being, for all meditation worthy;
Everything You are suffusing.

Even getting proximate, happens not catching You;
In the act of description, language is consumed.
Mind-exciting, heart-enthralling,
By divine game You have frenzied.

Getting You does not thrive by intellect;
You don't surrender to science.
Humbling all vanity,
Wholesomely, You've held dear.

This autumnal evening

(3340) E sharada sandhya nace madhuchanda

This autumn evening dances to a sweet cadence;
It is looking in but Your direction.
With fragrance of night jasmine in the white-cloud habitation,
Does anyone know what she yearns for?

Who knows when had been the first sunup;
The last sunset, none has in supposition.
You know everything, everyone You attract;
This evening, that fact it honors.

You bestow supreme devotion, that same tendency
By which strength, oh Lord, we can get totally free.
On even's crimson glow, with night-jasmine affection,
At Your feet I beg this compassion.
