Having wished You still more near,
On myself shame did I heap.
You had been within psyche;
Upon eyelids did I fail to see.
Oh my perpetual companion,
Coming and going and staying's collection,
I sail with no shore, having forgotten Thee,
In a self-made jeopardy.
You remove my delusion leaden;
Unto life a crimson dawn You fetch.
In Your divine play, Your dalliance,
To contend with obstacles I'm willing.

I could at least fight for Your grace.
