Don't be cruel

(3616) Tomar ganer tale tale necechi

Danced have I to Your song's many beats.
Don't You know, don't You see
I have held You dear?

With crimson glow, dawn's newly risen sun;
From sluggish wind, the smile of blossom.
By consciousness sleep is broken;
In Your direction, I've remained watching.

At day's end beneath the evening star,
To but one thought's some ektara,
The music mode removes night's dark;
Through just its tune I've met defeat.

Delusion and reality

(3615) Tumi kao na katha sunayana

Fair-eyed maiden, you say nothing;
Why don't you speak?
For whose sake, your tears run;
Who has given misery?

Night and day in whose expectation,
Steadfastly, you remain vigilant...
On tears float the love-spores
That crave no more Whose proximity?

What you hear or listen to under daylight,
Dreams You weave at dark of night...
Which ignis fatuus do you draw nigh;
What is your austerity?

Finally I see

(3614) Tomar e gan anadikaler

This Your song from ancient times,
With the endless it unites.
In tune and beat on vast blue sky,
Onward it glides.

No one knows when the start;
Even held, it stays uncaught.
Coming and going within heart,
Finish in the Infinite abides.

You exist in Your anthem;
In the universe, sway You've wakened.
You dance in whole-hearted cadence,
Most Sweet Lord, with rapt mind.

And yet I don't

(3613) Tar namer madhu mane mekhe rai

His name's sweetness, upon mind I stay coating;
Upon mind I stay coating.
He is my morning's sun,
Hope and confidence of a night dense.
Him I can forget nowhere!

In dawn's light is just His smile;
Inside the mind He plays on bamboo pipe.
With hue of bloom getting combined–
He keeps doing that only; hence my plight is risky.

Like this, He goes and comes;
He floats invisibly in such fashion.
He rids gloom through look sidelong;
I take His acquaintance, not having seen.

Because You arrived

(3612) Arup tomar ruper parashe

Formless Lord, by the touch of Your form,
To a dark world light has come.
By that light, sides are brightened;
Earth bewitched has woken up.

You've brought to earthly realm the splendor of Heaven;
With a goose's[1] tune, melody You've blended.
A song of the Infinite, You've sung to one who's limited;
By that means, direction and prospect have run amok.

What had been veiled by darkness,
Neath the rays of daybreak, eyes did spread.
Smiled the act of viewing, that seen, and witness;
With a thrill, the visible universe, dance it does.

I become devout

(3611) Tomar katha bheve bheve, divanishi ashru jhare

About You ever thinking,
Day and night exude tears.
Far away You stayed, Darling,
This my house, made gloomy.

By the pitch-black magic of a rainy night,
To get You close, the mind desires...
Alas, like stamen of screwpine,
Upon gloom, hope goes sailing.

On the fragrance of Autumn shephalii,
A raft of white cloud is floating...
You came not into proximity;
Vainly I dress up, flowers replete.

With the tender dawn of my Springtime,
By fresh green leaf, a colored sky...
Searching for where You be, I run dry,
Hell and heavens ever rambling.

Total submission

(3610) Ami gan geye jai

A song I go on singing.
No wealth is mine, no strength of piety;
And thus I pray for mercy.

Throat You've given me, myself You gave ardor;
You've given a life full of honeyed impulse.
I proclaim capitulation by a hundred means.

Just foot-dust am I, I'm Your molecule;
Seated in cognition's Gokul, You play on a bamboo flute.
That same sound of reed pipe, I hear at heart's core;
By pull of the Infinite, boundary I defeat.

Could it be?

(3609) Anek vedana diye anek ankhi jhariye

By means of immense agony, too much having wept,
My Hardhearted Lord, You have come.
What You want, that too, I don't know;
What You speak, I don't fathom that also.
I but know, just understand: Myself have You loved.

I know not if greatly remote You dwell;
Is that why pain does not penetrate ear's tunnel?
Or maybe deliberately, You pretend to be deaf;
Else, You don't wish to let know what You've thought.

You paint a portrait of Your divine sport;
Mayhap unawares You sketch, You stay deep in thought.
To start-middle-finish You pay no attention;
At length and irrespective, smiling, on You've gone.

I seek an unearned grace

(3608) Bhuloke dyuloke eki mayay

On Earth and in Heaven with amazing magic,
You made dance to melody and cadence, Lord.
Each and every instant flashes splendor;
From Creator to blade of grass You infused affection.

Every moment there is such a flow thrilling;
Ever flashing, it comes with a glow, all-pervading.
In thought and contemplation is auspicious gleam;
Through pollen, You scattered impact of love.

Hey my Deity, that You not ignore my story,
I have no biography or any effort holy.
Strength of virtue or awareness, know it isn't there;
But even then, grace does a waiting mind implore.

I think of You only

(3607) Tomakei smaran kari

I remember only Thee;
To You alone in thinking I cling.
Why don't You arrive adjacent,
Oh my ruthless Lord Supreme?

My days come and vanish,
Rotating in vain upon an axle.
Absent You, survival is at risk;
A pitcher I infuse with venom deadly.

Day's lustrous rays and magic of moonlight;
A floral garden and a cooling shadow mild...
Lose worth all things of mine;
Yourself alongside, no equal is there.

I was blind

(3606) Andhakarer antarete

At gloomy dark's inside,
With light-stream You arrived.
I didn't recognize, I could not know
To me You were so kind.

Ever gazing at the path, a bloom fell;
Always singing, the bird slept.
I knew not, I could not follow
Where You hid and why.

Eyes opened, I took note;
What's this: Near and far, it's You alone.
By moonlight, such ambrosia, the desert
To the lees You did provide.

What's the deal anyway?

(3605) Pathapane ceye ceye

Ever looking toward the path,
So many nights disappear.
It came not on those nights sweet:
Came not that southern breeze.

My pain do You not realize,
And is that why You're hiding eyes,
Yourself keeping far aside...
Me alone and left behind,
In this rainstorm most severe?

Have You forgot I am a molecule,
My body by Your thought resolute,
I, a firefly; the sun, You...
Yet still You play a bamboo flute,
Having kept far away at this time unpromising?

Life in exile is too harsh a game

(3604) Ekti katha shudhu ekti katha

A single point, just one matter,
From You I inquire,
Hey the Cosmic Lord, adamantly.
To this same earth why bring the living beings
Just to give them misery?

Having come to the world creatures laugh and weep;
Sometimes neath moonlight, sometimes under comets falling.
Easily, with dust they go and unite...
Below a disinterested glance oblique.

Why play a game, this liila heartless–
At times cast adrift in grief, at times fill with happiness.
Sometimes You come imminent, sometimes far off take Yourself...
Between light and darkness, never discriminating.

Delusion

(3603) Prabhu tumi eso mor manane baso

Lord, You please come, sit within my cogitation;
In meditation Yourself have I yearned to receive.
Taking just Your name, rowing o'er just Your flow,
I've gone on doing just Your deeds.

Unseen and unblemished, You are cherished–
By both mind and heart, worthy to be worshiped.
My own soul's closest kin,
On just Your implication I've stayed replete.

Life comes and goes, resembling a rainbow;
So many things that glow, they all swoon in a mo'.
The sweet and mild breeze, the pleasant shadow–
By a dance amid You only I have gone crazy.

It's a new day

(3602) Nandanacandanasar hate

From the pith of sandalwood delicious,
Arrived has this emission of ambrosia.
Rapidly through a rhythmic dance and song,
The message of new life it has brought.

What did not happen in days past at any time,
That came floating with a heavenly delight.
Into the human mind, silently and in private,
It has let be poured the wares of love.

Who- and wherever you be, hear words of mine:
Color's chronicle has been inscribed!
To this Truth Supreme, with everyone along,
All of you come running; the morn it has become.

Totally mind-boggling

(3601) Arup ratan prabhu mor

The Formless Gem, Master mine,
You are heart-and-soul pleasing.
I did not fathom You, Who You be I knew not well;
I know only that You be virtue's dwelling.

In a non-stop liila where everything goes adrift,
A molecule's minuteness loses self in some Infinite.
Mid both unit and collective, in cognition-garbs one hundred,
Form's beauty You compose incessantly.

Through a dance in cadence and beat, cognition moves ahead;
In a string of waves with lustrous girdle does it swell.
What You go on thinking, who else will understand, tell me do;
Ten million salutations at Your lotus feet!
