Lord, I need Your love

(3217)  Patha ceye achi

The path am I watching;
Threaded have I kept a wreath;
You did not come.
The day has departed;
Also night has ended...
Mental pain don't You fathom?

With the frost, floating off are fallen jasmine heaps;
The smile of kush and kash too has gone missing.
Drawing closer is a gentle vernal breeze,
But it does not talk.

By snowdrifts Earth has got enveloped;
Left without beauty, now She is necessitous.
The cuckoo's song and peacock's call, silence-absorbed,
No sound do they put forth.

Why I seek refuge

(3216)  Kakhan sahasa tumi ele

When long back suddenly You came;
You left, setting mind asway.
Toward face simply having gazed,
Not a word did You say.

You're the earth's existential pulse,
Echo of the seven lokas' thought.
Surging wave-rows of the ocean,
Love's flow did You let cascade.

Come am I for refuge of Your mercy,
A restricted bubble of Your infinite Divinity.
Amid strange and unknown, mine is the motivity;
As base of my soul please remain.

Lonely

(3215)  Tomare ceyechi, maneri niipe manidiipe

I have wanted You,
Neath the mind's Cadamba tree, under jeweled lamplight.
You did not appear.
On a pitch-black rainy night,
To stormy winds inducing fright,
You did not yield.

With countless games the nature of rainy season
Had been surrounding me with myriad delusions.
By Your greatness, the best of all,
Enveloping had been such a deceit!

With a slow and halting meter[1] does the world proceed,
Desolate and timorous, and path-weary.
Just so ever-roaming in hope of You only,
Opening eyes, why don't You see?

Rejoicing at end of night

(3214)  Aji prabhate chande giite

Today at dawn with both cadence and song,
Through a stream of form Yourself I received.
With power of mantra, from the Eastern Mountain[1]
Light's flow upon Earth You did bring.

The frown of gloomy darkness has gone off;
Life has been roused in the bosom of an atom.
Filled with rhythm and beside himself,
The peacock of mind races on, dancing.

All apprehension got swept aside;
The right time for coronation did arrive.
With crimson glow and floral beauty,
You dispensed cognition and vivacity.

You are mine through and through

(3213)  Manera majhare tumi ke

Who are You amid the mind?
You race along dancing.
Today in charming attire
You entice me.

Watching the path I am seated;
Fear and shame I've forgotten.
Every moment with delight,
In memory You bestir meaning.

On sandy beach by sea of time,
Pervasively entwined with my life,
Calling and calling You bring awakening.

No wonder I hold You dear

(3212)  Svapane peyechi bheve dekhechi

Through dream have I received, I have contemplated
In the fancy casket of mind.
You're the pupil of my eye, You are the Beloved.[1]
By thinking I have fathomed, with ears have I listened
On the sandy shore of time;
So I know the Limitless.

In the azure firmament is Your majesty;
With star after star is Your superb beauty.
On You speech cannot provide a boundary;
So I tug You into heart in consequence.

Silently and secretly like the floral dust,
You have dwelt with fondness and devotion.
Day and night awake is a sleepless love;
Upon ideation afloat is one's own Self.

Because He loves

(3211)  Jhainjhavate shravana rate

On Shravan's night with winds stormy,
He had come secretly.
No word did He speak, there'd been a hush;
With love had He peered.

Upon two lips had been a smile,
Ridding the gloom of rainy night,
As if declaring: "Love do I,
And so on night of ruin I've appeared."

Amid clouds of dense ebony,
Unspoken is the sound that peals.
In darkness He is splendor's stream;
Into His flow, He propelled me.
