New-moon night's darkness having cast away,
A lamp of hope You set ablaze.
That which I'd thought impossible,
It happened by taking Your name.
Down on a shriveled river comes a spate;
In dried-out eyes a stream of tears eventuates.
Greenness smiles on barren waste;
You conferred compassion's grain.
An atom of kindness brings light-cascade;
To dry lips hymn's ambrosia it donates.
It hurls a deadly thunderbolt on sin and depraved,
Enabling You to summon the human race.
