You broke their life's utterly gloomy prison.
You attracted everyone, let be forgot their difference;
The many You took and wed.

Who had been in despair, who'd been sinking into gloom,
Receiving with joy and shame, they welcomed You.
Everybody went along, gained the light a generation new,
With the thrill of each moment.

On a smiling Earth that day at dusk,
You'd come to my dwelling.
In mind there'd been inclination, joy in meditation;
Upon eyes You let be traced antimony.

Hand held on head, You did speak,
All pain removing instantly.
You said: "Came storm and gale, but don't fear;
Around you I am here.

"Rise-and-fall, also contraction-and-expansion
Appear on the journey, but they're as naught.
Your aim having retained, proceed with conviction,
Bringing forth the victory of humanity."

No other corridor is there.
Myself on Your path only You impel;
Just along that path I'd proceed.

On my path filled with barbs,
Stricken had I been, incessant.
Wounded by stones each moment,
In vain I've searched for peace.

With no start or end to that path,
In rhythm and in hymn I'll pass.
You will endure with light in hand;
And so a song of love I sing.

Amid psyche, Yourself You appeared
In unfamiliar dress, new and charming;
I have known You nonetheless.

Through light and darkness Your Sport is amazing;
From within the mind, it's a game with psyche.
Amid thought, with thought is a merrymaking,
Why do You not rid thought's shortcoming?

If You arrive only by making mistake,
It does not matter even so.

With form's luster altar having adorned,
Endlessly I go on singing songs.
With Your melody, with Your thought,
With Your words, I compose.

In my mind is hope immense,
Ample yearning, ample fondness.
Amid excess, just a bit
Will You or won't You give, that too I don't follow.

How is it anybody was not knowing?
The world You've filled with thoughts of love;
That fact, were folks not grasping?

In Braja You've endured, Braja's Krsna;
In the mental sphere, Your Braja You have formed.
With Jamuna abrim to overflowing,
It's astonishing that anyone was not seeing.

That Jamuna, it has been drying up today;
People have gone on to forget Your tale.
A clever heart, Yourself remembering,
It plays upon a lyre solitary.
