There was not date or moment, or computation;
On Earth's surface, nobody was there.
There was not a grain of dust, not a rain shower:
No cloud transformation from mist to water.
There had been no sunshine, this environment:
On flower petals, the bees a-buzzing.
There was no demise or the touch of nectar;
There was no nighttime or even the day's mirth.
There was not a microsecond's radiance of luster;
Within Time Eternal,[1] all were deep asleep.
