My humble welcome

(1435)  Na bale na kaye

Uninvited, unannounced,
Why came You this way?
I decorated not my house,
Enkindling reception's flame.

In mind there was much yearning
To proclaim welcome to Thee;
All apparatus being empty,
You came disregarding.
You have come lovingly;
You came and brightened psyche.

To Thee in royal splendor
I shall declare my welcome;
With camphor lamps, resin, and flowers,
I will decorate with deference.
You've floated upon psychic mirror;
Heart and mind You had filled.

Call me Don Quixote

(1434)  Asibe baliya gele

You left saying You will come;
But You've forgotten me, I have realized.
In salt-water of the eyes,
I have kept in check my emotion.

Smiles in a sky of flawless blue
A dreamy digit of the moon,[1]
While in my mind arises
Your unrelenting liila.
Yet still Your path I have kept watching;
Roused am I with songs aplenty.

Jasmine fragrance is adrift
On a sweet and gentle wind;
The warmth of life derides
Each impassioned breath of mine.
Yet still I did not cede defeat;
I've gone on, moments ever counting.

Because You came...

(1433)  Chande tale ele

With rhythm and beat You came;
Pleasing nectar You gave away.
Humanity's dense brightness,
In a well, dark and deep, You ignited.

That which was in a dream crimson,
To life did it get awakened.
Nebula that was remote,
You pulled and brought it close.

That which was the moon of distant place,
Heart's nectar It became.
With sweetness of affection,
You made a flower bloom in the wilderness.

He gives of Himself...

(1432)  Ainjan enke dao ankhira pare

You trace stibnite upon eyes.
Air and sky, filled with loveliness sublime,
They would look on Thee with hearty sincerity.

In the vast blue heavens and at poles North to South,
Upon leaf and blossom, and on ivy and small creepers…
You have remained strewn, and You are full of implication;
For me to fathom now, You do allow.

In a flower's nectar, on the moon at a distance,
In a planet and a star, on the surface of a nebula…
With one and all celestial bodies, in both light and darkness,
You have gone and become mingled in a stream of beauty.

Come quietly

(1431)  Eso niirava carane

On silent feet please do come;
Your seat has been spread, my Love,
In solitude at heart's core.

With flowers, mind I've kept adorned
Through many ages with much labor.
Musing on Your glory, nectar I have plastered
In color after color.

No hatred, fear, or shame is mine;
You alone are my Ideal, gist of my desire.
Constantly for Your kindness I am begging
When I'm living and while dying.

Sadly waiting

(1430)  Ainjan enke cokhe cahiya nirnimese

Kohl traced on my eyes, vigilant unblinking,
I am seated by the path, waiting for Thee.
Your word You broke; having said You will come, You came not...
After lavishing a tender smile, You went far away.

Coming to the fore again, You hid Yourself behind a screen;
After capturing my heart, why did You play a game?
Offering assurance You withdrew; and all love You did take...
What's the reason, with false hope, You did make me weep?

It is night's final hours... dried up has the string of flowers;
On thread of blossoms, fragment of the garland has fallen.
Over yon, dawn breaks on eastern sky; and I stay watching...
Maybe with the new sun, a glance You will cast back.

Divine Honeybee

(1429)  Phulparage anurage

With floral pollen and affection,
Who did come... which celestial nymph?
With song after song, the flower buds'
Slumber-illusion You shattered.

On this moonlit night, privately,
For the sake of swaying psyche,
Humming into every ear,
You conferred nectar's stream.

Taking stock of familiar or strange,
None of that You entertain...
Small or big, minuscule or great,
Everyone You did wake.
