When come You had,
Unconscious had I been, in slumber dense.
Beside the bed You had sat;
I did not grasp Your advent.
Your lyre-strings had vibrated repeatedly;
By octave awoke, raised had been a clanging.
Shut has the door unfastened by the nighttime breeze;
I opened not my eyes nonetheless.
Awoke, I see: Shed is Your floral string;
A fragrant medley has remained on banner of psyche.
As if having called, it tells me: "No more be like asleep;
In the east a ray of dawn do witness."
