With éclat of ashes and matted hair, You arrived.

There had been malatii, there had been madhavii
There had been campak, parul, and camelii;
You came with datura and margosa on all sides.
There had been Chinese silk and earrings golden,
Golden bracelets and armbands jeweled.
There had been necklaces, bright emerald-begemmed;
Then why, with rudraksa oh why see I?
